What you need to know about Swedish massage?

The Swedish (also called classical) massage is the most common style of massage In Europe. This gives the base of the medical, sport and segment massages, they all use similar grips and procedure.

The good medical effect of the massage is known from ancient times and also the literature of it looks back from thousands of years in Europe and Asia.

The process of the grips were methodized by Pehr Henrik Ling (1776–1839) Swedish fancing master and he made a combination of massage and gymnastic exercises.He was dealing with the medical effects and suggestions of the massage. The process of the Fancing Master were developed futher by physicians, scientists, psychologists, physiotherapists till the up to date method had been created what we apply now. This method is strictly conceptional and consists of 5 main grips followed by cca. 30 other touches. The order is also strictly defined. Bearing in mind the defined conception, the Masseur may vary the grips in accordance with the body shape and the unique requirements of the Guest. The time of period of the massage is about 60 minutes at the case of „entire body” action. It involves the workout of the back, waist, neck, shoulders, scapula and the legs and the arms. At the case of unique requirement you can reach 70-80 minutes, but not more – you should not forget about the stimulation of the digestive organs effected by the massage.

Stimulation of blood- and lymph circulation, conditioning of the skin, stimulation of digestive organs, improving psychosomatic disorders, treating headache and cramps.

Contraindications

Acute illnesses, fever, skin deseases, contagion, osteoporosis, tumor, acute disorders in blood circulation.

Recommended frequency

Apart from casual refreshing, max. once-twice per week, but at least once in 2-3 weeks needed to maintain health – protecting effect.
